@tomchristie Since I am using DRF, can I use apistar with DRF Schema?

You can use apistar with any OpenAPI/Swagger schema.
There's third party packages for generating that with REST framework, or it's built-in from 3.9 onwards. (Tho be aware that there may be some continuing work that'll need to happen on apistar's client in order to reach the same maturity as this one)

It would have been most convenient to have known that. I've had an open bug report #137 on this project for more than a year, and finally moved away from the project altogether.

I'd formally request you mark the repo as dead and point to the New Way so that others don't wait in limbo.
