Fix readthedocs (#554)
Oolite 1.93.0.7777-260225-4193bc6
Version full inline (#552) The full version string is now inlined in the game files and the executable itself. The macro OO_VERSION_FULL, representing the full version string (e.g. "1.93.0.7779-260224-dc76e30"), is now defined at the command line during compile time for all C and Obj-C files in the project. This allows easy access to the version string from practically everywhere. The full version string is added to the [-]-help output, as well as the main menu screen when the -showversion command line argument is used. The full version is now also printed in the log header and is now the version reported for all core world scripts. In addition to all the above, the full version string is now embedded in the core resources manifest.plist file, replacing the previous Maj.Min version format under the version key. The build type is also inlined in manifest.plist under the key debug_functionality_support, which takes a value of yes or no. yes implies a test release or snapshot build, no implies a deployment build.

- Controls: Full in-game keyboard/joystick remapping and handling of non-US keyboard layouts.
- Performance: Internal framerate caps raised to 240 fps, powered by optimized builds using modern compilers.
π Under the Hood
With a radically overhauled build system, this release upgrades compiler technology and libraries for better performance and simplified development. It addresses dozens of stability issues, including logic fixes for mission screens and increases JavaScript runtime memory (now 256MB) for more complex expansion packs.
For a comprehensive list of changes, please refer to the internal changelog.
But who want's to read about it? You want to experience it for yourself. Grab the download, launch your starship and get out into the universe. There's a legend out there with your name on it. Make it yours.

Oolite 1.90
The Oolite development team is pleased to bring you the new stable release of Oolite, tagged 1.90. The game is available for download from the Oolite website. Windows, Linux (64/32 bit) and OS X (64 bit only) ports are available.
This release brings a much improved graphics environment, with special attention paid to planets. Atmosphere appearance on planets is now configurable and custom planets now support normal, gloss and illumination maps. Further graphics improvements include filmic tone mapping, Oren-Nayar diffuse light model, increased light source radiance for better visibility of objects in space and more. Additionally, weapons now have individual sounds assigned to them, while scripts have even more properties available for access.
As always, stability has also been further improved, with plenty of bugs from the previous version fixed. For the full log of changes, please refer to the version 1.90 changelog or the What's New page at Oolite's website.
Enough with the talking though; now it's your turn. Here is a starship and a universe. Go out there and build your legend in the spacelanes. Fly safe, Commander!
25 June 2025 Note: The original 1.90 release referenced a now defunct web URL for downloading OXP's. To correct this, we have adjusted the binaries to the correct URL, so all of these downloads should work out of the box, with no further steps required to download OXP's.
