Some people prefer the word versions of the operators since they're more intuitive to read due to not requiring memorization of somewhat arbitrarily-chosen symbols.

I 100% agree. It would be amazing to see a presentation for a conference talk written with <% and %: all over it. Jason could really get creative with this one.

I actually see the point of using not instead of just ! as it's much easier to notice.
