UI freezing for short periods occasionally?

I've had this issue occasionally on my Windows machine, and a student is having it happen on their Mac. Sometimes the UI will stop responding for a second, and then go back to normal for a while. Unfortunately, does not seem to be based on something repeatable in the code. Could it be something with the logging?

My best guess would be the intellisense-like code I built into it. Currently the analysis for that is done in the main thread because TKinter doesn't play well with threading, but if that's the issue I might need to bite the bullet and set up a full parallel queue approach and marshal everything back to the main thread for rendering.

If that's what causes it, it should be repeatable by clicking on certain areas of the code that would make intellisense stuff happen (like after a dot for a method/field access expr). If you have one of the projects that did it, I can try to click around in the code and see if I find anything like that.

Logging currently is done with an MPSC channel approach, so that shouldn't be blocking for long durations (only long enough to push to a list under mutex)

On my PC, it was triggered while typing, so it could be intellisense. For the student, it seemed to be related to switching tabs. He wasn't trying to type anything at the time. He sent me his project, but it doesn't seem to cause it on my Mac, oddly enough.

The weirdest part is that it's very inconsistent, but I'll see if I can recreate it on my PC since there was a project giving me a lot of pain.
