JVM 17 Compatibility #658
Description
When #642 was merged as part of release v2.3.1, the sourceCompatibility and targetCompatibility values where changed from JavaVersion.VERSION_17 to JavaVersion.VERSION_21, which broke compatibility with my application.
Unfortunately I am not in a position where I can update to JVM 21, and was wondering if there was a reason for the change, or if it was simply updated as part of the migration to the Kotlin Gradle DSL.
If there isn't a requirement due to a dependency or some other reason, would it be possible to revert the change so that I can continue to use this library?
