Hi nice project!
I've been playing around with similar goals on this little robot https://rosmo-robot.github.io/ there is also a slightly larger 'medium' one https://rosmo-robot.github.io/medium/ with a large one planned based on an aluminium plate.
I've been using this fork of Linorobot https://github.com/hippo5329/linorobot2_hardware/wiki for the work.
I was wondering if you'd considered working with the existing Linorobot codebase/community? There's a bunch of different hardware supported there https://github.com/linorobot/linorobot2
